Job summary

Main Line Health’s Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery in the Philadelphia area seeks a full-time Faculty Cardiac Surgeon to lead our established coronary revascularization program and co-lead VAD/MCS initiatives at Lankenau Heart Institute.

The ideal candidate will work with cardiac surgery and cardiology teams to expand programs, perform on-pump/off-pump CABG, robotic/MID-CABG, and provide on-call coverage while mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications

• Completed an approved fellowship program and ABTS board certification or foreign equivalent.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Interest in complex CABG and VAD surgery; early to mid-career encouraged.
• Experience in on-pump, off-pump, and multi-arterial CABG.
• Robotic CABG and MID-CABG preferred but not required; mentorship available.
• Proven ability to collaborate and communicate within an interdisciplinary team; communicates with families and patients regarding plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cardiac surgical and cardiology teams to grow the cardiac surgical program with a focus on heart failure/VAD and advanced coronary revascularization techniques.
• Provide coverage of the cardiac surgery service and perform general cardiothoracic procedures; participate in on-call duties.
• Lead and mentor teams within the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) and MCS programs; contribute to quality and process improvement.
