Under the direction of a Cardiologist, the Lead Cardiac Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The role involves responsibility for designated procedures and may include duties as a preceptor in areas of specific competence.
