(Eligible for $10,000 Sign on Bonus paid out in three installments, prorated for Part Time) Current MaineHealth employees not eligible for the sign on bonus. Must be separated from MaineHealth system for 6 months to be eligible.

Summary:

Under the direction of a Cardiologist, the Lead Cardiac Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The role involves responsibility for designated procedures and may include duties as a preceptor in areas of specific competence.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  1. Education: Graduate of an approved school of Sonography or an equivalent combination of training and experience to be eligible for registration as a Cardiac Sonographer through the American Registry of Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  2. License/Certifications: Eligible for registration in Cardiac Sonography through ARDMS or CCI. Full registration expected within 12 months of hire. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: At least five years of clinical experience as a Cardiac Sonographer required.
