Job summary

You will lead end-to-end capital projects from concept through commissioning, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering or Food/Process Engineering.
  • Extensive experience managing capital projects in manufacturing, industrial, chemical, food, or related environments.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and stage-gate processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end capital projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate the overall site capital portfolio.
  • Partner with business, operations, engineering, and finance teams to align objectives with priorities.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and resources for successful delivery.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, and external partners.
  • Drive design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Ensure EH&S, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and decisions to stakeholders and leadership.

Where You’ll Make a Difference
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of capital projects ranging from approximately $5M to $50M, from concept through commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate the overall site Capital portfolio.
  • Partner with business, operations, engineering, and finance teams to align project objectives with business priorities.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, and external engineering partners.
  • Drive engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and key decisions to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project performance, mitigate risks, and maximize investment value.
  • Promote continuous improvement by sharing best practices and lessons learned across projects.
What Makes You the Right Fit
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering or Food/Process Engineering.
  • Extensive experience managing capital projects within manufacturing, industrial, chemical, food, or related environments.
  • Proven success delivering large-scale capital projects with responsibility for cost, schedule, safety, and quality performance.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and stage-gate capital project processes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
How Would You Stand Out?
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Experience delivering both brownfield and greenfield manufacturing projects.
  • Experience working in multinational and matrix organizations.
