Qualifications

  • Certification in CADD software (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) preferred.
  • Experience in an engineering consulting firm and familiarity with ASME/ANSI codes.
  • Mastery of CADD software including AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Revit.

Lead CADD Technician, Brownsville, TX

Halff has an opening for an experienced CADD Technician to join our growing Public Works team as a Lead CADD Technician out of our Brownsville, TX office. The Lead CADD Technician is responsible for overseeing and managing the production of detailed engineering drawings and plans using advanced CADD software. This role requires expert technical skills, extensive experience, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of CADD technicians. You will be providing support in the advancement of Halff’s technical abilities for transportation, stormwater, utilities, and related discipline planning and design projects. The Lead CADD Technician ensures the highest standards of accuracy and quality in all design documents and plays a pivotal role in coordinating with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders. What You Will Do
  • Supervise and provide direction to a team of CADD technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output.
  • Develop, review, and approve complex engineering drawings and plans, ensuring they meet all project specifications and industry standards.
  • Implement and oversee quality control processes for all CADD-related tasks, ensuring precision and compliance with relevant codes and standards.

What You Will Need
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a CADD Technician, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Certification in CADD software (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in an engineering consulting firm and familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI) are highly desirable.
  • Mastery of CADD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit) and in-depth understanding of engineering design principles.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and mentor a team of CADD technicians.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure the highest quality in all drawings and designs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites.
  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
