Job summary

Saic is seeking a CAD Mechanical Engineer to support the U.S. Army in Aberdeen, MD. The engineer will lead a CAD team, ensure the accuracy of designs, and collaborate with various engineering teams to develop 3D models and schematics.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with expertise in SolidWorks and a Top Secret clearance. This position offers competitive salaries from $120,001 to $160,000 along with potential relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more experience; an additional four (4) years' experience can be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Active Top Secret clearance is required; a TS/SCI is required to maintain employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of CAD Designers for workload management and QA.
• Generate 3D models, initial drawings, and schematics in a computer environment.
• Collaborate closely with system engineering and product development teams.
• Digitizes, edits, and revises engineering drawings.
• Check drawing plots for correctness and standards conformity.
• Liaise with engineers on model accuracy and design standards.
• Perform engineering computations and prepare specifications.
• Monitor vendor support for CAD engineers and technicians.
• Oversee software enhancements and monitor system maintenance.
• Ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
