Job summary

Conceras is seeking a Lead Cable Technician to oversee installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems at Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, CA. The role requires coordinating a technical team and ensuring operations meet BICSI standards and DoD regulations.

The candidate will manage cable inventories, participate in site surveys and project planning, and act as SME for network cabling, including fiber and copper pathways. Active Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance is mandatory.
• BICSI Installer Certification required.
• 5+ years in cable plant operations, including fiber and copper installations.
• Strong knowledge of BICSI, NEC, and EIA/TIA standards.
• Experience with testing tools OTDR and Fluke testers.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Visio, and MS Office for documentation.
• OSHA certifications preferred.
• Ability to read floor plans, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance, and testing of structured cabling.
• Lead a team of technicians and provide on‑the‑job training.
• Coordinate project logistics and manage cable inventories.
• Ensure compliance with DoD, BICSI and industry standards; document outcomes.
• Serve as SME and liaise between TPOC and customer.
