Job description

Our client is a proven leader in the communications industry, offering a professional level of cabling expertise to their partners. Position Summary:

Anistar is seeking experienced Lead Cable Technicians for a direct hire position to provide assistance with the installation, termination, and testing of various types of voice and data cables as well as security/access control equipment.

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

Technicians MUST have experience working with various cables that include, but are not limited to: twisted pair, coax, Category 5, Category 6, single and multi-mode fiber optic cables. Cable installation includes: pulling, placement, terminating, testing, and labeling. IDF/MDF, rack install, fiber termination and testing experience are a plus. We are looking for individuals who pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Installation/decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
  • Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
  • Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
  • Follow all production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
  • Have a broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.

Basic scope of work includes:

  • Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
  • Accept responsibility for the outcome of work performed.
  • Understand customer service principles.
  • Comprehend job safety requirements.
  • Read and understand job floor plans.
  • Be familiar with wiring schemes and testing.
  • Pull all types of low voltage cable.
  • Perform field terminations and labeling.
  • Maintain orderly paperwork and manage midsize projects and service jobs.
  • Layout MDF and IDF closets, dress all types of cable, and perform all types of terminations.
  • Work effectively in Data Centers.
  • Work on analog, DSL, and extend T1 lines.
  • Patch network equipment.
  • Understand copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.

Reports to Operations Manager and takes daily directions from technicians of various levels. Responsibilities include troubleshooting copper and fiber cables, working on analog lines, extending T1 connections, and supervising others in performing tasks such as decommissioning fiber trunks, splicing, and infrastructure installation.
