Job summary

Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding, LLC seeks a Principal Electrical Designer for C5ISR interior communications on defense platforms. You will create detailed electrical designs for robust interior networks and collaborate with systems, mechanical, and software teams to meet strict military requirements.

Lead design reviews, mentor junior designers, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure production readiness. A U.S. security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 15 years of shipyard experience in design, installation and test of shipboard interior communications systems.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, Bluebeam, Mentor Graphics or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD, MIL-SPEC and ABS requirements a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce detailed electrical design documentation for interior communication systems within C5ISR platforms.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, mechanical designers, and software teams to integrate electrical designs into overall system architecture.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical leadership to ensure compliance with military standards and project requirements.
• Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution for electrical design issues during development, testing, and deployment phases.
• Mentor and guide junior electrical designers and engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and support production readiness.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and industry standards relevant to interior communications and electrical design.
