Job description

Position Title: Lead C5ISR & COP Systems Engineer
Location: 30 Minutes North of Detroit, MI (On-site)
Salary Range: $85,000 – $150,000
Clearance: Must be eligible for a U.S. Secret Security Clearance
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Our client is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to support the integration of C5ISR systems and Common Operating Picture (COP) technologies on tactical vehicle platforms. This role provides technical leadership, cross-functional coordination, and direct support from design through deployment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead COP system integration across vehicle platforms
  2. Coordinate with engineering, testing, cyber, logistics, and training teams
  3. Translate user requirements into technical specs
  4. Review system designs and documentation
  5. Track progress and provide technical input across project phases
  6. Present updates and technical briefings to stakeholders

Requirements:

  1. U.S. Citizenship
  2. Eligible for DoD Secret Clearance
  3. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  4. 8+ years of experience in C5ISR or systems engineering
  5. Experience with COP systems such as GCCS-J, TAK, JBCP, or Blue Force Tracker
  6. Strong communication and technical documentation skills
  7. Ability to work independently and lead engineering tasks

Nice to Have:

  1. Experience with military radios, GPS, SATCOM, or secure networks
  2. Familiarity with VMF, JSON, or interoperability testing standards
  3. Background in DoD acquisition or tactical vehicle integration
