Job summary

Luke’s Local Grocery is seeking a Butcher Lead Clerk to support the Associate Butcher Buyer and serve as PIC on shifts. You will help manage the Butcher and Deli displays, train staff, and ensure food safety and quality while maintaining a welcoming customer experience.

Flexibility to work weekends/holidays is required, and you will oversee daily checklists, orders, and staff assignments to meet inventory and service goals.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of meat cutting/butcher experience.
• Must be 18 years or older; proficiency with English.

Responsibilities

• Support ABB in purchasing for the Butcher department and assist with writing orders.
• Maintain fresh, clean, well-stocked displays in Butcher and Deli.
• Train and supervise staff on shift; coordinate breaks and daily PIC check-ins.
• Ensure food safety standards and FIFO; monitor spoilage and waste.
