The Business Intelligence – Value Based Care Analyst will be responsible for key financial performance and operational analyses to support the development and implementation of Value Based Care (VBC) health care delivery system models. Under general direction, the analyst is accountable for the accuracy and integrity of system-level data throughout the reporting life-cycle. The role involves developing organization-wide reporting, presenting findings to guide executive decision‑making, and serving as lead for VBC arrangement reporting and key metric development around quality, gaps in care, risk adjustment, utilization trends, and leakage. The analyst will also handle data modeling, ETL design, master data management, data quality, and data governance, develop and maintain stored procedures, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the care continuum to steward data and best practices.

Essential Job Functions
  • Collaborate with Report Sponsors to meet reporting needs and specifications, creating complex reporting suites for action and improvement and maintaining a dashboard generator for wide distribution.
  • Manipulate data from source systems, combining disparate sources—including spreadsheets, flat files, payer portals, EMRs, and EDW/UDP databases—to define reporting rules, cleanse data, and build data marts, tables, and Tableau data extracts.
  • Develop and own rules to diagnose the health and stability of system-wide reports and measures, troubleshoot data hygiene, and work with partnering teams to resolve data issues.
  • Create measures for reporting, including defining populations, inclusion/exclusion criteria, performance variance, and organization targets.
  • Lead work from initiation to completion, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams on large‑scale projects, ensuring timely delivery, and presenting findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain a portfolio of work by updating reports and queries to align with evolving specifications and technology. Automate report generation using job scheduling and Tableau extract creation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, IT, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, business decision support/statistical analysis, healthcare administration, or a clinically associated field with strong statistical analysis. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years (preferably 5–7) of directly applicable experience in data systems, analysis, programming, and technical design in a healthcare setting, including SQL and background in payer claims and sourcing data from EDWs and EMRs.
  • 3–5 years (preferably 5–7) of report‑development experience using current BI tools (Tableau minimum).
  • Experience with project management and proven project‑management skills.
  • Ability to identify improvement areas, recommend solutions, and implement changes.
  • Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, public‑speaking, and team‑building skills.
  • Capacity to work well in a remote or onsite hybrid environment and translate technical language to non‑technical audiences.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of data systems, query languages, and BI tools, particularly Tableau.
  • Understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards such as CMS Conditions of Participation, IDPH, MACRA, and related requirements.
