Role Title : Lead Business Intelligence Analyst

FLSA Category : Exempt

Reporting Relationships :

This position reports to the Director of Healthcare & Business Analytics.

Role Summary and Responsibilities :

The Lead Business Intelligence Analyst will execute a variety of complex analytical exercises to provide operations, quality, medical management, and finance with actionable, high quality quantitative and qualitative insights that drives effective business decision making, enables interpretation and prediction of past, current and future performance, and identifies opportunities to improve patient quality of care. Analyzes the root cause of any identified opportunities and present the story to business decision makers to take appropriate actions using PPTs and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions :

  • Assist in the migration of existing dashboards, reports, SQL assets from Azure and Power BI to Snowflake, dbt and DOMO
  • Conduct rigorous data mining and statistically sound analytical analyses to develop and report high quality actionable and quantitative information that will drive effective and integrated business decision making, enable interpretation of performance trends
  • Create dynamic and highly effective methods of data delivery and provide critical and insightful data.
  • Coordinate with line and support functions to provide the analytical support to critical operational effectiveness initiatives and to identify new opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop expertise, thought leadership in the area of analytics, business intelligence and reporting, and provide new and innovative approaches to business data analysis and interpretation.
  • Identify new opportunities to reduce unnecessary medical and administrative costs.
  • Develop and execute presentations, reports and dashboards for middle and senior management use for (HEDIS, Cost, Risk and Utilization). Continuously improve the delivery of process performance information to all business partners.
  • Utilizes SQL, dbt, Snowflake and other tools for the purpose of extracting and processing data for the business’s analytical needs.
  • Works with Project Manager to ensure a review and tracking process exists throughout the project life cycle.
  • Strong communication and coordination skill to get projects to the finish line timely.
  • Recommends process improvement opportunities.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Business : Population Health Management, Quality, Risk Score, EMR and Claims data models.
  • A bachelor's degree (BA / BS) in a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare data analytics.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with SQL and related development environments.
  • Minimum 3 Years of working experience with calculating HEDIS and NACQ quality measures.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with building with DOMO or other business intelligence platforms.
  • Curious problem solver by nature; able to quickly make sense of complex business and data issues.
  • Driven, self-motivated, team player and adapt at working in environment with competing priorities.
  • Able to communicate and manage expectations.
  • Experience in claims data modeling is a plus.
  • Experience with Athenahealth EMR a plus.
  • Experience with Snowflake, R and Python a plus.

Knowledge and Skills / Expected Competencies :

  • Delivery of assigned reports and dashboards in a time manner.
  • Ability to facilitate business requirements gathering and convert it technical specifications.
  • Define together with your supervisor and achieve productivity metrics regarding quantity / quality / creativity of reports and dashboards created.
  • Curious problem solver by nature; able to quickly make sense of complex business and data issues.
  • Driven, self-motivated, team player and adapt at working in environment with competing priorities.
  • Able to communicate and manage expectations.
