GDIT is seeking a Lead Business Data Analyst to support the Case Management Modernization (CMM) program for the Administrative Office of the US Courts. The role drives data governance, STTM development, and analytics across a cloud-based data platform, serving 204+ federal courts nationwide.
You will bridge business stakeholders and delivery teams, ensuring clear requirements, auditable documentation, and compliant reporting.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of related experience in information systems and data programs.
- Experience with testing, writing acceptance criteria and confirming test cases results.
- Experience with producing relevant requirements, sizing user stories correctly, and removing roadblocks prior to sprints start.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst on enterprise IT or data programs.
- Demonstrated experience supporting cloud data platforms, analytics, or data initiatives.
- Strong expertise in requirements management, data analysis, and documentation.
Responsibilities

- Contribute to metadata catalog ingestion by defining business definitions and data attributes.
- Support training, documentation, and communication for CMM data products users.
- Ensure all documentation is audit-ready, version-controlled, and SOW-compliant.
- Operates within an Agile federal delivery environment supporting multiple scrum teams.
- Collaborates closely with business owners, data engineers, architects, and governance teams.
- Accountable for requirements of accuracy, traceability, and documentation quality.
- Expected to maintain audit-ready artifacts and timely deliverables.

The Lead Business Data Analyst will work as part of the CMM Data Modernization and Governance team responsible for delivering an integrated data governance, engineering, data platform, reporting, analytics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) capabilities that support operational decision-making and fulfill AO's data and analytics objectives in support of the CMM program.
The successful candidate will serve as the lead primary bridge between federal business stakeholders and the CMM Data Modernization and Governance technical delivery teams, ensuring requirements are accurately captured, governed, and translated into high-quality data products. This role supports data modernization by driving requirements management, source-to-target mappings, data governance coordination, and documentation required to deliver compliant, auditable, and mission-aligned reporting, analytics, and AI/ML solutions.
The Lead Business Data Analyst will execute the following responsibilities:

- MA/MS degree with 7+ years or BS/BA degree with 9+ years of general experience in information systems and 7+ years of specialized experience.
- Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience assisting with testing, writing acceptance criteria and confirming test cases results.
- Experience with producing relevant and current requirements, sizing user stories correctly, and removing roadblocks prior to sprints start.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst on enterprise IT or data programs.
- Demonstrated experience supporting cloud data platforms, analytics, or data initiatives.
- Strong expertise in requirements management, data analysis, and documentation.
- Experience working in federal or regulated environments (plus).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
- Proven ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting federal judiciary or justice-related programs.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data quality practices.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS S3/Redshift/QuickSight preferred).
- Experience supporting statutory or compliance-driven reporting.
- Mentoring or lead-analyst experience.
- Experience with SQL (read-only analysis).
- Experience with STTM and data mapping tools.
- Experience with BI and Reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, or QuickSight.
- Extensive experience with Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentation.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platform supporting operational data, reporting, and analytics delivering cloud-based architecture (data lake, lakehouse, or data warehouse).
- Familiarity with Data Platform & Architecture, Data Engineering & Integration, Data Migration & Archiving & Disaster Recovery tools and services.

The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
