Raymond James is seeking a Lead Business Analyst to partner with the Cash Management development team in St. Petersburg, FL.

The role focuses on writing system requirements to ensure technology solutions meet business needs across account interfaces, bank deposits, money sweeps, and related cash processes. The position emphasizes SDLC expertise, data analysis, and collaboration with IT, business operations, and design resources.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of relevant technical business analysis or technical analysis experience.
• Financial services experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Sweep accounts, high yield savings, and interest accrual processing.
• Extensive hands-on experience testing IT applications.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).

Job Description

As part of the Cash Management development team, the Lead Business Analyst will partner with the business to facilitate and implement technology solutions. They will be responsible for writing system requirements that will ensure the technology solution will meet the needs of the business. This team is responsible for application development, maintenance, and support for the following business areas: Account Interface, High Yield Savings (Bank Deposit Program), Money Sweeps, Aggregate Cash, Interest Accruals and Posting. The candidate will gain subject matter expertise and demonstrate the ability to integrate domain knowledge with an understanding of financial services standards and practices. They will also make judgements and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data.

Responsibilities

• Creates detailed business requirements for functional (e.g., business processes, rules) and non-functional (e.g., data, security) capabilities.
• Gathers and interprets information from multiple sources (including databases, interviews, etc.) and makes recommendations.
• Provides support for application development teams, including documenting business processes.
• Translates technical concepts to business audience and business information to a technical audience.
• May take a leading role in developing estimates and implementation plans for technical solutions.
• Partners with team members to develop project schedules, reports and documentation. May be required to act as project lead on small to medium projects and/or provide direction to others on the team.
• Works with User Experience / Design resources to help visualize requirements into prototype.
• Understands and applies principles in risk management, issue tracking and change management.
• Validates test cases to ensure that scripts will evaluate the business function being performed.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills/Previous Experience

• More than five (8) years of relevant technical business analysis or technical analysis experience is highly preferred.
• Financial Services experience is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Sweep accounts and associated processing, high yield savings accounts, and interest accrual processing is strongly desired.
• Requirements gathering, risk management, issue tracking, and change management; a specialization in requirements gathering for functional and operational enhancements to applications.
• Extensive hands‑on experience testing I.T. applications is required, in addition to knowledge of general software testing methodologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and work through various phases of it with peers and IT partners.
• Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid software development methodologies.
• Project planning and tracking.

Skill In

• Experience in working with IT and business stakeholders at various levels is required.
• Experience in gathering business requirements is required.
• Experience with data analysis/data mapping and the ability to query relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server) is required.
• Hands‑on experience testing web applications and file‑based batch processing.
• Experience in leveraging AI to assist in daily job functions is highly preferred.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication as well as ability to create/maintain effective presentations and technical documentation.
• Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail. Detailed understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (e.g., Agile/Scrum, Waterfall).
• Experience with Mainframe / HP NonStop / SIS Back Office is preferred.
• Experience with reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., SSRS, Tableau) is preferred.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite – Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word.
