Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking a Lead Business Analyst to bridge business groups, vendors, and IT for requirements, functional specs, and delivery across Supply Chain IT. You will guide business teams in using applications and ensure alignment with project objectives and goals.

Responsibilities include leading SDLC activities, coordinating testing across onshore/offshore teams, and driving value from existing capabilities while ensuring on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years' experience as a technical analyst in the Supply Chain and/or Retail IT field
  • Experience with one or more Supply Chain Systems (WCS, WMS)
  • Experience working with vendors, business, technical, and architectural teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understands swim lane process flows
  • Experience developing and executing test plans
  • Experience leading IT development projects
  • Undergraduate degree in Information Systems or equivalent
  • Scrum Master or Product Owner certification preferred

Job description

Lead Business Analyst

The Lead Business Analyst will be a key interface between the business groups, 3rd party vendors, and IT. They will be responsible for gathering user requirements, creating the functional requirements, assisting in the development process, ensuring the system meets the functional and user interface specifications delivered by vendors, and guiding the business teams through use of the application.

The Lead Business Analyst provides project delivery functions within Supply Chain IT for project initiatives and post-production support across multiple business groups. This role collaborates with business leaders, vendors, technical analysts, and enterprise architects to develop and maintain the solution that meets the project objectives and goals.

Base salary range for this role: $113,200 - $172,600.

Essential Functions
  • Performing project delivery functions and leading business analysis functions under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Working with key partners guiding project delivery from requirements through implementation
  • Taking a leadership role in exploring and analyzing new application functions and technologies
  • Ensuring business partners view the project delivery group as proactive and responsive to business needs
  • Providing new capabilities and driving value from existing capabilities
  • Leading different aspects of systems development life cycle – ensuring that requirements are defined accurately, systems are designed/coded or purchased that meet the defined requirements, and that execute efficiently
  • Test plans are developed and test cycles are coordinated effectively for both onshore and offshore testing teams
  • Driving the post‑deployment stability phase
  • Projects are completed successfully on time and on budget
  • Supporting existing production systems
  • Defining and prioritizing system problems and engaging key partners to implement timely verified solutions
  • Ensuring the related fixes and/or enhancements are tested successfully (by IT and by key business partners)
  • Ensuring all support activities are executed on time and on budget

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
  • Minimum 8 years' experience as a technical analyst in the Supply Chain and/or Retail IT field
  • Experience with one or more Supply Chain Systems (WCS, WMS)
  • Experience working closely and effectively in a mix of vendors, business, technical, and architectural teams to accomplish the intended goal
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to document requirements and guide technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a test plan
  • Experience leading small to medium IT development projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Undergraduate degree in Information Systems, or equivalent discipline, or an equivalent business experience
  • Intermediate to Expert SQL
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including Visio
  • Data manipulation in Excel and/or Access
  • Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Lean, or other Agile frameworks, and their application in business analysis. Ability to perform detailed business analysis tasks in an Agile context, including writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and ensuring continuous stakeholder engagement.
  • Skilled in facilitating meetings, workshops, and discussions in an Agile environment, ensuring clear communication between business and technical teams.
  • Scrum Master or Product Owner certification (preferred but not required)
Physical Requirements / ADA

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in‑person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically. This role requires regular in‑office presence, including to engage in in‑person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in‑office and remote work.
