Departmental Overview
The Department of Recreation & Wellbeing offers competitive and recreational activities for students, faculty, staff, and campus community members. We support 30 sports clubs and a wide range of recreational activities with state-of-the-art equipment.

Position Summary
This role involves managing, planning, organizing, coordinating, and overseeing operations for one or more buildings, including space planning, general maintenance, specialized systems, call center triage, move coordination, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  1. Project Lead: Perform rough concrete and carpentry work, install safety equipment, and work independently or with a maintenance crew.
  2. Maintenance Operations: Replace electrical fixtures, repair plumbing, prepare surfaces for painting, lubricate elevators, operate tools, and perform basic repairs.
  3. Leadership & Teamwork: Assist in hiring, train staff, schedule work, evaluate performance, and maintain records.
  4. Vehicles: Operate university vehicles legally, maintain records, and ensure safety compliance.
  5. Administrative Functions: Manage work requests, participate in process improvements, and perform related duties.
  6. Operations Coordination: Source materials, maintain tools and work areas, and prioritize repairs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math in English.
  • Advanced mechanical skills and semi-skilled maintenance ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and mentoring skills.
  • Strong prioritization skills.
  • Four years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience.

Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt position at an hourly rate of $30.18 - $33.31, with benefits. For details, visit the UC Benefits website. Salary offers depend on experience and qualifications.
