Unico Properties LLC in downtown Seattle is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to manage repairs and preventive maintenance for a commercial property. You will ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable tenant experiences while maintaining all building systems and site conditions.

The role requires 5+ years in building engineering, a 2-year technical accreditation, and experience with EMS/controls. Competitive Seattle-area pay, strong benefits, and on-site responsibilities are included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, required.
• 5+ years’ experience in property / building engineering and maintenance.
• 2-year technical accreditation.
• Previous experience with building EMS (Energy Management Systems) and controls.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and specific maintenance and repairs using hand and power tools as directed by work orders including general carpentry, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing (may perform these duties with a high-level expertise in one or more areas).
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct minor and major HVAC issues, electronical issues (24v to 480v), and plumbing issues including removing and replacing miscellaneous plumbing fixtures.
• Maintains assigned response times to tenant calls.
• Interfaces with vendors and contractors in coordination of work and inspection of work.
• Operates the building in a code-compliant manner, maximizing energy efficiency while maintaining tenant comfort, and in a manner that is aligned with building LEED and energy conservation measures.
