Job summary

Paradigm Northwest is seeking a Lead Building Engineer in Houston to supervise a small maintenance team while performing hands-on upkeep of building systems. The role ensures resident safety and comfort, with oversight of housekeeping and laundry operations to maintain a sanitary environment.

You will manage preventative maintenance, budget considerations, and compliance with life safety regulations, using TELS for work orders and reporting. On-call responsibilities apply as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; trade certification preferred.
• 3–5 years hands-on building maintenance experience.
• 1–2 years supervising small teams in a single-facility setting.
• Experience with regulatory surveys and life safety codes.
• Familiar with maintenance software such as TELS for work orders and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, PTAC, fire alarms, and emergency equipment.
• Directly manage the maintenance assistant and mentor staff; delegate tasks.
• Oversee housekeeping and laundry operations; ensure cleanliness and compliance.
• Log activities in TELS and generate reports for audits and budgets.
• Conduct facility rounds and address on-site risks; manage on-call emergencies.
