Job summary

Siemens Boston area is seeking a Building Automation Design Engineer to design HVAC/control systems for education facilities, data centers, hospitals, and more. You will develop mechanical/electrical layouts, specify panels, and ensure third‑party integration (Modbus, APOGEE, Desigo or BACnet) for efficient operations.

You will work in a hybrid role with Canton office visits 3 days a week and some travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of building automation (HVAC controls) design experience.
• Must be able to work from Canton office 3x a week.
• Ability to travel up to 10% annually.
• Knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations.
• Experience with design software and drafting tools (AutoCAD, Visio).

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements and design building automation solutions for facilities (education, data centers, hospitals).
• Prepare design documents including mechanical layouts, electrical drawings, system integration, BOMs and control sequences.
• Attend meetings to support opportunities and contribute technical details to project designs.
• Prepare engineering re-estimates and coordinate with sales/management on scope.
• Perform QA and peer-review engineering documents.
