Job summary

Hoffman Building Technologies, Inc. in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Building Automation and Controls Hardware Design Engineer to design, specify, and document electrical control panels, hardware schematics, and field devices for BAS.

You will bridge HVAC equipment such as Chiller Plants, DOAS, and VRF/VRV with DDC control execution, selecting Distech Controls hardware and Tridium Niagara frameworks, while ensuring UL 508A/NEC compliance and producing BOMs and submittals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hardware design engineering experience in Building Automation (BAS/BMS).
• Experience with Distech Controls hardware and the Tridium Niagara frameworks (N4/AX).
• Strong understanding of NEC and UL 508A panel design principles.

Responsibilities

• Hardware & panel design for BAS/BMS control panels and power distribution using Visio.
• Specify DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, meters, and VFDs per SOO.
• Design system networks with BACnet IP/MS-TP, Modbus RTU/TCP, and integration interfaces.
• Prepare BOMs, riser diagrams, network topologies, and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with UL 508A and NEC; support startup personnel.
