Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Lead Build Engineer to architect and oversee build, release, and DevOps practices across our digital platforms. You will guide automation, packaging, and deployment pipelines while ensuring stability and security for enterprise environments.

This role requires leadership in upgrades and large-scale releases, plus collaboration with cross-functional teams. Based at our San Antonio Home Office, you will own mobile release processes and drive efficiency through monitoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years in build, release, or DevOps engineering.
• Strong expertise in build automation and deployment pipelines.
• Experience with enterprise .NET build and release environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and governance of build and release processes.
• Design and enhance build, packaging, and deployment automation.
• Own mobile application releases to Apple App Store and Google Play.
• Establish deployment, monitoring, and operational tooling standards.
• Provide technical leadership for infrastructure upgrades and strategy.
• Perform capacity planning and improve build and deployment performance.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and release procedures.
• Design automated monitoring, recovery, and repair solutions.
• Lead disaster‑recovery planning and Tier 2 support for complex issues
