Job summary

ClickUp is seeking a senior brand designer to own and evolve our visual brand and design system, including tokens, components, and guidelines. You will enable AI-driven outputs at scale and set guardrails so non-designers and AI tools produce on-brand work.

You will build documentation, templates, and asset packages, ship high-volume web assets, and maintain consistency across landing pages, campaigns, and product marketing.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of brand/visual design experience with leadership of a design system.
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating typography, layout, color, motion, and systematic thinking.
• Active use of AI design tools (Midjourney, Firefly, Claude Design, Figma AI) and AI-assisted coding tools with light GitHub familiarity.
• Experience building design systems that enable AI-generated outputs at scale.
• Experience QA'ing and refining AI-generated design outputs and setting guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Serve as quality gatekeeper for brand-facing creative produced by AI tools and external agencies.
• Create and maintain design system documentation, templates, component libraries, and assets for on-brand work.

• Audit and rebuild the design system from incomplete foundations, establishing documentation and structure.

Summary

You're the single point of excellence for ClickUp's visual brand. You set the standard and ensure every touchpoint (from landing pages to social to product marketing assets) feels cohesive and world-class. But here's what makes this different: you're building a design system that AI tools and non-designers can produce bar-raising creatives on their own with your infrastructure. You build the guardrails that make everyone else excellent and ensure the company is never bottlenecked by design.

Responsibilities

• Own, maintain, and evolve ClickUp's brand design system (tokens, components, patterns, guidelines), continuously elevating the aesthetic bar as the brand grows

• Serve as quality gatekeeper: review and approve brand-facing creative produced by AI tools, vibe-coded outputs, and external agencies

• Create and maintain design system documentation, templates, component libraries, and automation-friendly asset packages that enable others to produce on-brand work without design support

• Design and ship high-volume web assets (landing pages, campaign pages, feature announcements) alongside high-impact brand moments like launches and keynotes

• Audit and rebuild the brand design system from incomplete foundations, establishing documentation and structure where little currently exists

Requirements

• 8+ years of brand/visual design experience, with significant time owning or leading a design system

• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating mastery of typography, layout, color, motion, and systematic thinking

• Actively uses AI design tools (Midjourney, Firefly, Claude Design, Figma AI, etc.) and AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) in their current workflow, with light familiarity with GitHub.

• Has built or adapted design systems specifically to enable high-quality AI-generated outputs at scale.

• Experience building design systems used at scale, including templates, component libraries, and constraints that enable non-designers and AI tools to produce on-brand output consistently

• Experience QA'ing and refining AI-generated design outputs; knows where AI breaks down and how to build guardrails

• Thrives as the sole designer on a team, making high-quality decisions autonomously with AI and tooling as force multipliers
