Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead board-level hardware development for mission-critical embedded computing and rugged aerospace applications. You will architect high-reliability solutions and influence design standards across air, land, sea, and space.

Hybrid position with cross-site collaboration, end-to-end ownership from concept to production, and a focus on secure processing and advanced interconnects.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required; Master's preferred for advanced roles.
• 6+ years of board-level hardware design experience from concept to production.
• Experience with embedded digital hardware, high-speed interfaces, memory tech, and interconnects.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity across complex boards.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead board-level design and development of complex digital circuits and modules from concept through production.
• Architect advanced electrical board solutions involving secure processing, storage, networking, FPGAs, high-speed interfaces, and extreme environments.
• Develop high-speed digital designs including 400G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen5+, DDR5+, and advanced interconnects.
• Establish engineering best practices, board design guidelines, and quality-focused processes with proactive verification.
• Support proposals with technical architecting, cost/schedule estimates, and BOE.
• Drive board manufacturability (DFM/DFA/DFT) and collaborate with manufacturing on build issues.
