Job Description

The UW Autism Center has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Lead Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join their team, with the position based in either Seattle or Tacoma.

Position Purpose

This position will oversee clinical service delivery, staff supervision, and community training within the Tacoma LAUNCH Program. This leadership role provides direct parent-focused services, manages clinical operations, supervises BCBAs and behavior technicians, and delivers training and consultation to school districts and community agencies. The Lead BCBA works within a multidisciplinary team and reports to the Director of Clinical Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Service Delivery (50%)

Parent & Family Services

  • Lead weekly parent resource and transition‑planning sessions.
  • Co‑lead psychoeducational parent groups and refine curriculum content.
  • Support families in accessing autism‑related community and state services.

Clinical Supervision & Oversight

  • Supervise BCBAs, behavior technicians, and practicum students; coach and evaluate performance.
  • Provide operational oversight for Tacoma LAUNCH, including staffing, onboarding, and daily clinical coordination.
  • Participate in cross‑site collaboration with UWAC Seattle; occasional Seattle coverage required.
  • Participate in ongoing supervision with the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Collaborate with UW Tacoma and Seattle faculty, staff, and clinical teams.

Program Support & Documentation

  • Provide back‑up BCBA coverage for ABA classrooms, including intervention design and program modification for children ages 2–6.
  • Lead team meetings and case consultations.
  • Complete all clinical documentation and reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and interface with administrative and billing teams.

Training & Community Consultation (50%)

Professional Training

  • Develop and deliver workshops for school districts and community organizations in multiple formats (in‑person, webinar, recorded).
  • Provide hands‑on training, classroom coaching, and behavioral skills instruction as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and meet all assigned deadlines.

Consultation Services

  • Conduct on‑site or remote consultation, including functional assessments, observations, intervention planning, staff coaching, and written summaries.
  • Produce timely consultation reports and support documentation.
  • Coordinate care with community providers to support continuity of services.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in education or related field, plus 2–3 years of experience in working with children, adolescents, and/or adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Licensure and certification, if appropriate to the field (e.g., LBA – Licensed Behavior Analyst, BCBA – Board Certified Behavior Analyst).

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience teaching and designing programs for students with autism spectrum disorders, including collaboration with general education teachers, school administrators, related services personnel and outside community providers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience assessing behavior and synthesizing results in a written report.
  • An approach to working with colleagues that enhances collaboration and team building.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, negotiate multi‑layered regulatory systems, manage competing priorities, strong organization skills.

  • Reliable transportation to and from place of work to other sites.

Pay Range Minimum: $71,952.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum: $107,928.00 annual
