Job summary

Valiant Integrated Services is seeking a Lead Building Automation Engineer to join our team. You will oversee BAS projects, troubleshoot complex systems, and coordinate with technicians and subcontractors to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires familiarity with Metasys or Schneider controls, BAS programming, and knowledge of BACnet/Modbus; certification and advanced BAS experience are preferred.

Qualifications

Position Description

VGS is looking for a Lead Bldg Automation Engineer to join our team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• A Building Automation Engineer, also known as, HVAC Controls Tech, Project Engineer, or Controls Engineer, works directly on the Maintenance team on proper function of complex building automation systems, and a major role in executing Work Orders and preventive Maintenance tasks, ordering of components, and jobsite coordination with technicians and sub-contractors
• Leads, directs, and teaches BAS system operators with solutions to systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or advise others on how to resolve problems
• Diagnose and repair routine electronic control system malfunctions.
• Manage assigned work to meet professional execution, time, and customer satisfaction standards.
• Report problems or changes to management immediately.
• Make programing level changes to equipment sequences, alarm parameters.
• Troubleshoot software coding and make any necessary enhancements to ensure reliable and smooth operations of equipment and systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven electro-mechanical aptitude (based on previous experience and/or education) and user PC/software skill

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity with Johnson Controls Metasys and or Schneider Electric Controls or equivalent platforms and understanding of control programming and graphics for control systems.
• Possesses formal BAS training certifications.
• Advanced level knowledge of BAS, networks, software protocols.
• Knowledge and understanding of various communication protocols used in the industry including BACnet and Modbus.
• Familiarity with energy management systems, HVAC systems, and temperature controls, and related/integrated systems
• Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, lift equipment, and roofs in heat/cold/day/night conditions
• Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, crawling under/over utilities and in compromised spaces, ascending and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
• Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, lift equipment, and roofs in heat/cold/day/night conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Pay Range

The estimated pay range for this job. Disclosing pay information promotes competitive and equitable pay. The actual pay rate will depend on the person's qualifications and experience. $57.96 - $57.96 / hour
