Job summary

Harvard Medical School's MEDscience program seeks an experienced team teacher for its high school biology-based enrichment program serving a diverse student population. This lead teacher will teach up to 3-4 classes per day in a co‑teaching team and act as the primary contact for partner teachers, overseeing curriculum alignment, scheduling, and educator coordination.

The role includes managing 1-2 outside projects, training new teachers, and ensuring successful program delivery while embracing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • College-level understanding of biology and anatomy and physiology.
  • Prior high school-level teaching experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a patient-facing healthcare profession is a plus.
  • Experience in or open to training on lab techniques: ELISA, PCR, gel electrophoresis.
  • Ability to teach in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teaches in a co-teaching team.
  • Plan and deliver semester-long and module programming in the school year and 11 week summer programs.
  • Deliver interactive MEDscience lesson plans to students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to student learning styles while following MEDscience pedagogy.
  • Coordinate programming for partnering high school programs; design curriculum and manage logistics.
  • Manage 1-2 outside projects/programs in addition to classroom/partnership duties.
  • Contribute to training of new teachers with group training and observation.
  • Teach 3-4 in-person sessions each day and assist in simulation setup.
