Overview

Natera is currently seeking a Lead Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Bioinformatics Research Team focused on Epigenomics in Oncology. Natera’s mission is to change the management of disease worldwide by using information gained from a simple blood draw to detect disease early and proactively inform treatment. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in algorithm development, genomics, sequencing data processing, and applied machine learning.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and validate innovative algorithms and statistical methods to analyze large-scale data sets related to cancer detection
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence
  • Work closely with molecular biologists and clinical scientists to solve challenging problems
  • Contribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality control
Qualifications
  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with a strong emphasis on cancer epigenomics
  • Extensive hands-on experience in sequencing assays and pipeline development
  • Proven track-record of developing state-of-the-art computational methods for high throughput sequencing data processing
  • Strong foundation in quantitative reasoning, statistical analysis and applied machine learning
  • Strong computational and programming skills, with hands-on experience with Python and its scientific library stack (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
  • Experience using Linux command-line tools and writing shell scripts
  • Ability to perform hypothesis driven research, visualize findings and summarize results in oral and written form
  • High scientific rigor and eager to teach and learn about new computational methods and biology
Compensation

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
