Job summary

Loyola Marymount University’s Center for Equity for English Learners (CEEL) seeks an Assistant Director of Professional Learning to lead and coordinate professional development initiatives across districts, focusing on dual language and biliteracy.

The role includes curriculum design, teacher development, coaching, and collaboration with LMU units; responsibilities span program design, instructor duties, data reporting, and grant pursuit.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Education and experience in bilingual/dual language education.
• Experience with PK-12 systems serving linguistically diverse students.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
• Experience in teacher professional development and higher education teaching.
• Budgeting, program design, and project management experience.
• Biliteracy curriculum knowledge; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and implementation of CEEL’s professional learning programs.
• Provide instructional and programmatic assistance to partner districts, including coaching and curriculum review.
• Develop biliteracy curricular materials for English Learners and Multilingual learners.
• Coordinate design and delivery of certificate programs and signature professional learning sessions.
• Coordinate data management and prepare detailed project reports and presentations.
• Support CEEL’s professional learning consultants in project implementation and deliverables.
• Represent CEEL in internal and external forums; cultivate partnerships and funding opportunities.
