Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, focusing on behavioral services.
  • RBT certification within 60 days or equivalent qualifications (e.g., LPT or QBMP).
  • California DDS Direct Support Professional Training completion within 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train Behavioral Support Professionals through coaching and supervision.
  • Oversee and implement client-specific behavioral interventions per IPP/IBSP goals.
  • Facilitate community participation, promoting social engagement and independence.
  • Monitor treatment plan implementation and provide feedback to the team.
  • Document client conditions, behaviors, and progress; complete charts and reports.

Position Type: Non-ExemptReports to: Program DirectorPosition Note: This is a split Lead BSP/BSP position. The selected candidate will work as a Lead BSP on Fridays and Saturdays and as a BSP on Sundays and Mondays.Job Summary:As a Lead Behavioral Support Professional, you will provide both direct care to clients and leadership to a team of Behavioral Support Professionals. Your role involves implementing client-specific behavioral interventions, fostering skill development, and supporting community integration in alignment with Individual Program Plans (IPP) and Individual Behavior Support Plans (IBSP). You will also train and guide staff, ensuring treatment plans are executed effectively and with integrity, while maintaining a client-centered approach to care.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Training: Provide guidance and training to Behavioral Support Professionals through modeling, coaching, and direct supervision. Foster a positive team environment by motivating staff and maintaining high morale.Behavioral Interventions and Care: Oversee and implement behavioral interventions tailored to each client’s IPP and IBSP goals. Assist in skill development and support clients in achieving milestones.Community Integration: Facilitate opportunities for clients to participate in community activities, fostering social engagement and independence.Program Monitoring: Monitor the implementation of treatment plans and ensure adherence to program standards. Identify issues, apply solutions, and provide necessary feedback to team members.Documentation and Reporting: Observe and document client conditions, behaviors, and progress. Ensure accurate completion of behavioral data charts, incident reports, and client records by the end of each shift. Notify the Program Director and other relevant professionals of significant issues.Medication Management: Ensure adherence to all medication policies, including medication counts, audits, timely refills, and accurate maintenance of Medication Administration Records (MAR). Report medication errors promptly.Client Rights and Safety: Uphold and advocate for client rights. Promptly report any incidents of adverse behavior, abuse, or suspected abuse in compliance with Thrive’s Zero Tolerance policy and applicable regulations.Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Program Directors, Qualified Behavior Modification Professionals (QBMPs), RNs, Mental Health Clinicians, and other stakeholders to develop and execute client-centered plans.Meeting Participation: Actively participate in team meetings, including case reviews, risk assessments, and client-centered planning sessions. Contribute insights on behavioral strategies and client progress.Scheduling and Administrative Support: Assist the Program Director with staff scheduling, activity planning, facility audits, menu creation, and other administrative tasks.Incident Management: Ensure all special incidents and workplace injuries are documented and addressed appropriately. Communicate timely updates to relevant parties for compliance.Adaptability: Respond effectively to changes in client needs or program goals, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving abilities.Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the program’s success.Schedule: Morning Shift, Swing Shift, and/or Overnight shifts.Wage:Pay: $30-35/hour depending on qualification and EBSH experience.Schedule:NOC Shift (10pm-6am)Friday-Saturday as Lead BSPSunday-Monday as BSP8 hour shiftsOvertime as neededBenefits:Medical, Dental, and VisionPaid Time OffEmployee Discount ProgramsQualifications:Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.Minimum of 1 year of experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, with a focus on behavioral services.Obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 60 days of employment, or meet equivalent qualifications such as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT), or Qualified Behavior Modification Professional (QBMP).Completion of California DDS Direct Support Professional Training (Year One and Year Two) within 12 months.Certification in Professional Crisis Management (PCM), Ukeru, First Aid, and CPR (hands-on instruction required) prior to independent work with clients.Successful completion of Fingerprint clearance (Livescan) and physical health screening, including tuberculosis test and drug screening, required prior to employment.Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, climb, stoop, kneel, and move intermittently.
