Job summary

Methodist Family Health seeks a qualified individual to apply the Teaching Family Model to teach youth social skills and manage behaviors in a demanding, fast-paced environment. The role involves preventive, corrective, and intensive teaching strategies, with emphasis on documentation and adherence to MFH policies.

The candidate should be at least 21 years old, have high school completion (some college preferred), and be certified in the Teaching Family Model.

Qualifications

  • Must be certified in the Teaching Family Model.
  • Must have a valid Arkansas Driver’s License.
  • Must be eligible to be insured to drive MFH vehicles.
  • Ability to perform physical demands required by Crisis Prevention Intervention Training.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the Teaching Family Model to teach youth social skills and manage behaviors.
  • Provide on-site supervision and guidance to youth.
  • Complete required documentation on time according to policies.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude.
  • Follow all policies and procedures and assist with crisis interventions as trained.

Job description

Utilize the Teaching Family Model to teach youth social skills. This includes:

  • Preventive teaching
  • Corrective teaching
  • Intensive teaching (tantrum management)
  • Motivation systems (point card management,facilitatingtally up)

Use only approved Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) when engaging in physical crisis intervention.The lead BI will usually act as the team leader in physical interventions.

Follow all policies and procedures.Abides by departmental attendance policy.

Complete all required documentation on time and accurately according to policies. This includes but may not be limited to:

  • Transition notes
  • Critical incident reports
  • Restraint/seclusion forms
  • Observation and rounds
  • Fire and disaster drills
  • Security checklists

Use consultation services toseekand implement feedback. Communicate effectively with supervisorsand treatment team.

Maintain a professional and positive attitude.

Complete required annual in-service hours as specified by RTC policy.

Keep all work areas neat and clean. Provide guidance to the youth resulting in them keeping their areas neat and clean. (May require lifting)

Provide on-sight supervision, guidance, andfeedbackifnecessary,to other BIs in collaboration with the consultant.

Complete otherrelatedtasks asassigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

At least twenty-one (21) years of age.

College Graduatepreferred.Aminimum of60 hoursrequired.

Ability to document accurately and professionally.

Possesses the ability to understand and implement extensive training and to apply that training to the implementation of a comprehensive program of care for patients.

Ability to perform physical demands required by Crisis Prevention Intervention Training.

Experience working with “at-risk” youth or other populations with special needs preferred.

Ability as a self-motivator and the aptitude to work in a high stress fast paced positionwith a minimal amount of supervision.

Possess a valid Arkansas Driver’s License.

Must be eligible to be insured to drive MFH vehicles.

Must be physically capableto receiveverbal and written directions.

Must be physically able to sit and/or stand forlong periodsof time.

Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health, regardless of gender.

Must be certified in the Teaching Family Model.

Must have good auditory,visualand olfactory ability.

Requires the ability to sit and stand forlong periodsof time and intermittently walk, stand, stoop, kneel,crouchand reach with hands and arms.

Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects,toolsor controls.

Must be able tomaintaineffective audio, visualdiscriminationand perception needed for making observations, communicating withothers, andreading and writing, and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment.

Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means, to review information and enter/retrieve data, to see and read characters on a computer screen,chartor other treatment items.

Requires the strength and stamina to perform clinical duties.
