Position Summary
  • Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct patient care as assigned.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care and other duties as directed by the Charge Nurse.
  • Monitors patients for the need for specialized services and communicates findings to the Charge Nurse/RN.
  • Observes patients and milieu to ensure active treatment and patient participation.
  • Responds promptly to patient requests.
  • Reports changes in patient condition or behavior, including agitation, high-risk behaviors, vital signs, and daily routines.
  • Intervenes appropriately during behavioral crises.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, such as meals, grooming, ambulation, and toileting.
  • Reports factors that may hinder treatment progress to the Charge Nurse/RN.
  • Provides patient education based on identified needs.
  • Facilitates educational and activity groups as assigned, using approved materials and suggesting alternatives based on patient functioning.
  • Monitors vital signs like heart rate and blood pressure.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One-year acute inpatient psychiatric care experience preferred.
  • Certification/License: CPI/CPR Certified per policy.
