Job summary

METCON is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role requires 5+ years of experience, on-site leadership, and the ability to manage safety, schedules, and budgets in coordination with the Project Manager.

You will coordinate trades, read drawings, enforce codes, and maintain quality control while interfacing with clients, inspectors, and vendors to ensure project momentum and success.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a superintendent or similar role in commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, construction sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with Procore and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day on-site operations for commercial construction projects.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and field personnel.
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications.
• Conduct weekly site meetings and enforce METCON’s safety standards.
• Maintain detailed daily logs, progress reports, and quality control documentation.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to oversee the project schedule, budget, and materials.
• Interface with clients, inspectors, vendors, and city officials as needed.
• Coordinate inspections and resolve field issues to maintain project momentum.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times.
