Job summary

Kelso Building Services (KBS) is seeking a highly motivated Building Automation and Controls Install Lead / Working Supervisor. This hands-on leadership role guides field crews through BAS installation and startup to ensure safe, high-quality project delivery.

You will collaborate with project management, engineering, programming, and commissioning teams to drive project success while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with electricians and other trades on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of BAS, controls, low-voltage, or electrical installation experience.
• Previous experience leading crews in commercial or industrial environments.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and sequence of operations preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation of BAS and low-voltage control systems.
• Run EMT, rigid, flex conduit, and cable tray systems.
• Install and mount BAS control panels, controllers, sensors, relays, actuators, and field devices.
• Terminate low-voltage wiring and verify proper connections.
• Read and interpret blueprints, control drawings, one-lines, and technical specifications.
• Assist with BAS startup, checkout, and commissioning activities.
• Toubleshoot installation issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and create field red-line drawings.
• Coordinate with electricians, HVAC contractors, and other trades onsite.
