Job summary

Hilton Milwaukee’s Monarch Lounge in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Lead Bartender to deliver elevated F&B service with strong mixology skills. You will stock, greet guests, mix drinks, and uphold standards in a 1920s art‑deco lounge setting.

The role requires 2+ years of fine dining bartending, weekend availability, and expertise in wine, spirits and beer. Excellent communication and cash handling skills are essential, with TIPS certification and bartending credentials preferred.

• Two years of bartending or bar service experience in a fine dining outlet.
• Weekend night availability required.
• Excellent communication skills within hospitality.
• High level knowledge of wine, spirits and beer; recite vintages and regions.
• Bartending certificate and TIPS certification required.
• Basic math for cash handling and portion control.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock the bar daily including beverages, garnishes and supplies.
• Greet guests, take orders, mix and present drinks per recipes.
• Serve food at the bar and assist at tables when needed.
• Understand wine list, ingredients and preparation; manage bar inventory.
• Use POS for orders and cash handling; process guest checks.
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with liquor regulations.

We are seeking a dedicated Monarch Lounge Lead Bartender to deliver exceptional Food and Beverage service and showcase strong mixology skills in an elevated lounge setting.

What will you be doing:

• Set up and stock the bar daily, including beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce.
• Maintain stock, cut, and store fresh garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure quality.
• Greet guests, take food and drink orders, mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes andportioncontrol.
• Serve food at the bar and take tables when needed
• Understand food anddrinkmenu, wine list, ingredients, preparation, and service.
• Efficiently use POS and manage bar inventory.
• Handle cash transactions, verify charges, and process guest checks.
• Perform general cleaning tasks using standard products to meet health standards andmaintainglassware.
• Must adhere to all State, Federal, andcorporateliquor regulationspertaining toserving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
• Other duties as assigned such asassistingsecurity with disorderly guests and acting as a server when guests want to be served in the bar area.

What we are looking for:

• At least two years ofbartending or bar service experience in a fine dining outlet.
• Must be available to work weekend nights.
• Excellent communication skills and familiarity with the hospitality industry.
• Must havea high levelof knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer. Must be able to recite vintages, regions, and multiple levels of liquor.
• Ability to obtain any governmentrequiredlicense or certificate.Bartendingcertificaterequired.TIPS certificationis required.
• Basic math skills for cash register operations, makingchange, totaling checks, and understandingportionsizes.
• Proficient in English for guest communication and order taking; basic writing skills for requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers.
• Manual dexterity for garnishes, handlingglasswareand bottles, scooping ice, mixing drinks, and retrieving stock.
