Job summary

The Indigo Road Hospitality Group is seeking a Lead Barista to join our vibrant team at 30+ locations. You will oversee daily bar operations, craft coffees with latte art, and ensure each cup is made with care while maintaining cleanliness and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily bar operations and manage inventory for day-to-day needs.
• Create, prepare, and serve coffee beverages based on recipes; record orders accurately.
• Receive and serve food and drink orders to guests at the bar; handle payments and report tips.
• Create seasonal beverage offerings and develop recipes for staff reference.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new team members, providing coaching.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar areas, glassware, and bar surfaces; ensure sanitation.
• Report equipment issues and assist with bar maintenance and restocking.

THE ROLE

Nothing awakens your senses like the smell of fresh ground coffee beans in the morning. You love nothing more than creating the delicate and divine latte art, and ensuring every cup o’ Joe is made with love.

What we will ask of you:

• Oversee daily coffee bar operations by maintaining inventory of supplies needed to run the day to day operation
• Create, prepare, and serve the coffee beverages based on recipes and record drink orders accurately
• Receive and serve food and drink orders to guests seated at the bar, accept and process guest payment, and report cash and credit card gratuities received to comply with the IRS standards of reporting income
• Create seasonal offerings
• Develop and type recipes to be kept on file for fellow baristas
• Assist with new team member training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including coffee station and bar tops, wash and sterilize glassware, set up and breakdown all bar items
• Assist the restocking & replenishment of bar inventory and supplies and report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager

Requirements for Success:

• Have a positive energy, be ready to assist fellow support staff and work as a team player
• At least one year of prior restaurant or relevant experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and all guests
• A flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Constant standing/walking with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting
