Job summary

Harmons Grocery seeks a bakery associate to maintain quality standards and product levels of all fresh-baked items. You will follow recipes to bake rolls, doughnuts, bagels, cookies, and more while assisting customers with friendly, attentive service.

You will share responsibility with the Bakery Manager for production, inventory, rotation, pricing signage, and daily cleanliness to keep display cases inviting and safe. Weekend/evening availability is required.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handler’s Permit is required.
• Experience mixing, proofing and baking with quality results.
• Ability to read and follow a recipe.
• Basic math for scaling recipes.
• Enjoys working with bakery products and interacting with customers.
• Knowledge of baking procedures and times for sweet goods.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays.

$17.28 to $20.57 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to maintain quality standards and product levels of all fresh-baked products in the bakery.This person will be following recipes to bake rolls, doughnuts, bagels, cookies, sweet rolls, muffins, brownies, etc.This person will also assist customers when necessary and provide exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Shares accountability with Bakery Manager for production levels, product assortment, product inventory levels and product quality
• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
• Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the bakery provides
• Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product rotation and inventory levels for the bakery
• Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
• Ensures the bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
• Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
• Follows production sheets and adheres to product rotation to ensure appropriate levels of Harmons fresh baked products

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

• Enjoys working with, handling and eating cookies, breakfast pastries and various other bakery products
• Knowledge of mixing, cooking, baking, and assembling procedures and times for sweet goods
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures
• Excellent organization and planning skills
• Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with customers and fellow associates
• Ability to handle conflict in a professional and appropriate manner
