Job summary

Harmons Grocery seeks an experienced Pastry Cheeseperson to maintain pastry quality and levels in the Bakery, and to train other pastry staff. This role involves preparing, cooking, mixing, baking, assembling, packaging, labeling, and decorating pastries; managing orders, receiving, and stock control; and providing exceptional customer service.

• Experience preparing pastries quickly and efficiently with quality professional results.
• Ability to read and follow a recipe.
• Basic math skills used to half or double recipes.
• Enjoys working with, handling, and eating cake and pastry products.
• Knowledge of mixing, cooking, baking, and assembling procedures and times for pastries.
• Excellent organization and planning skills.
• Strong communication skills and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures.
• Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the Bakery provides.
• Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the Bakery.
• Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items.
• Ensures the Bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance.
• Delivers excellent customer service to all customers.
• Follows production sheets to ensure appropriate inventory levels of Harmons’ pastries.
• Ensures the correct amount of ingredients and supplies are in stock.
• Prepares, cooks, bakes, assembles, and decorates pastries for sale and to keep as back-stock.
• Communicates openly and frequently with Store Director and Bakery Manager.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

$15.00 - $19.23 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to maintain quality standards and product levels of all pastry products in the Bakery in addition to training other Pastry Chefs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
