Job summary

STR in Massachusetts seeks a Lead Software Engineer / Back-End Developer to lead a cross‑functional team building scalable data processing and analytics platforms. You will design, deploy, and optimize backend services that ingest imagery, text, geospatial data, and more, across on‑prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

Active Top Secret security clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2–8+ years of experience.
5 years of experience deploying or maintaining enterprise software solutions.
Software team leadership experience for distributed cross‑functional teams.
Strong problem solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise backend services.
Build infrastructure to process, store, and expose large and varied datasets (imagery, text, geospatial data).
Collaborate with algorithm developers and end users to deploy analytics components on cloud and on‑prem platforms.
Mentor and guide distributed teams and ensure robust software delivery.
