Job summary

Capital One seeks a Lead Software Engineer, Back End to drive backend architecture and delivery for a portfolio of cloud-based, distributed systems. You will lead a team of engineers, mentor peers, and push for technical excellence across Java, Python, SQL, Node.js, Go and Scala.

You’ll collaborate with product managers to deliver robust solutions on AWS and modern container platforms, including Docker and Kubernetes, to empower millions of customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) required.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience, internship excluded.
• At least 1 year cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Preferred Master’s Degree; 7+ years in Java/Scala/Python/Go/Node.js; 2+ years cloud experience; 4+ years open source frameworks; 1+ years people management; 2+ years Agile; experience with AI tooling.
