Job summary

22nd Century Technologies, Inc. seeks a Server Systems Engineer Lead to design, administer, and secure enterprise server infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. This role drives high availability, performance, and cybersecurity compliance within regulated settings.

The ideal candidate has deep Windows Server expertise, virtualization, and Microsoft 365/Office 365 administration, with DoD/8140 IAT Level III background and DoD/STIG familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of enterprise server administration or systems engineering experience.
• Strong expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365/Office 365.
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization and storage.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and server hardening standards.
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise server infrastructure.
• Administer and support Windows Server environments and virtualized infrastructure.
• Manage Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Oversee identity and access with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Perform lifecycle management: provisioning, patching, hardening, monitoring.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for critical services.
• Configure virtualization platforms: VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, and applications teams.
• Document SOPs and disaster recovery plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead modernization projects.
