Job summary
AT&T is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to architect and drive Azure cloud transformation, DevOps automation, and application modernization for critical enterprise systems. You will lead migration, build CI/CD pipelines, and mentor engineers across teams.
Role requires deep Azure expertise, strong leadership, and experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Azure DevOps. Location is Alpharetta, GA with a 5-day on-site presence and a competitive salary range.
Qualifications
- Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure including IaaS, PaaS, networking, storage, identity and governance.
- Experience leading cloud migration and application modernization programs.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Hands-on with Terraform, ARM, Bicep, Helm, or related IaC technologies.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, and container-based deployments.
- Scripting and automation with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures, enterprise security, IAM, and governance.
Responsibilities

- Implement cloud-native architectures leveraging containers, Kubernetes, APIs, and microservices.
- Establish monitoring, logging, performance, and reliability practices across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Lead production support, troubleshooting, incident response, and platform standardization initiatives.

- Experience supporting large-scale, business-critical applications and services.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Terraform, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, and related cloud technologies.
- Ability to influence architecture, operational strategy, and engineering best practices across teams.
- Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, Azure Administrator, etc.).
- Experience with Snowflake and Databricks administration in Azure.
- Background in large-scale Agile/SAFe environments.
- Experience introducing automation, developer productivity improvements, or AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Telecom or large enterprise technology experience preferred.

Our Lead System Engineering jobs earn between $141,300.00 - $237,400.00 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
