Job summary

GSPANN Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Lead AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and lead cloud infrastructure and DevOps initiatives on AWS. You will provide technical leadership, drive cloud architecture decisions, and mentor engineers.

The role focuses on secure, scalable AWS solutions, IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud governance to ensure high availability and reliability for global clients. Onsite at San Ramon, CA.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on AWS cloud architecture and engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of AWS networking components (VPC, subnets, NAT, SGs, NACLs).
• Expertise with Terraform/IaC and container tech (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices.
• Proficient Linux scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, and cloud governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of secure, scalable AWS infrastructure.
• Manage AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS/ECS, Lambda, CloudFront, Route 53, ELB, CloudWatch).
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform/CloudFormation.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab, AWS CodePipeline).
• Establish cloud security, governance, networking, and compliance best practices.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and lead cloud infrastructure and DevOps initiatives on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role involves providing technical leadership, driving cloud architecture decisions, improving scalability and reliability, and mentoring cloud/DevOps engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Design and manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS/ECS, Lambda, CloudFront, Route 53, ELB, CloudWatch, and others.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Establish and enforce cloud security, governance, networking, and compliance best practices.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms.
• Drive cloud migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives.
• Implement solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, performance, and production issues.
• Collaborate with application, security, architecture, and platform teams.
• Conduct technical reviews and establish cloud engineering standards and best practices.
• Mentor and guide junior and senior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improve AWS resource utilization.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud architecture and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking, including VPC, subnets, route tables, NAT/Internet Gateways, security groups, NACLs, and Transit Gateway.
• Expertise in Terraform/IaC.
• Strong understanding of Docker and Kubernetes, preferably EKS.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of Linux administration and scripting such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, security controls, and cloud governance.
• Experience with Git-based version control.
• Strong understanding of cloud monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
