Job description

Modify, service, repair, and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures all tasks are promptly completed in compliance with federal regulations, customer guidelines and company policies.
  • Reviews required customer and FAA paperwork to ensure proper maintenance updates and compliance with applicable regulations and customer requirements.
  • Oversees and co-signs for uncertified mechanics in accordance with the GTI RSM procedures.
  • Leads the maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration of, or approve and return to service, any aircraft, or part thereof, only for which that Lead is rated and has satisfactorily performed the work concerned at an earlier date.
  • Facilitates On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignment and mentoring.
  • Performs maintenance tasks as required and becomes an active member of the crew.
  • Has intermediate knowledge of all areas of the aircraft and assigned work area.
  • Properly utilized and maintain Avionics hand tools to perform repairs and installations.
  • Prepare routine reports and correspondence.
  • Fabricate per drawings and standard practices wire bundles and assemblies to include marking of wires, properly securing wires into bundles, and termination of wires into a variety of contacts and connectors.
  • Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

Minimum of 5 years’ avionics experience required. Proficient with the Standard Wiring Practices Manual.

Airframe (A) or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License is a plus. B1, B1.1, and/or B2 certification is a plus.

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).
  • Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work overtime, as required.
  • Ability to travel.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Able to reach overhead.
  • Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
  • Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).
  • Full range of motion with both hands.
  • Ability to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $68,000.00 - $93,000.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
