Job summary

CMC Electronics is building a new Reston-based avionics software organization. You will lead a team of software engineers, shape development processes, and drive DO-178B/C certification readiness for critical avionics products used in commercial and military aviation.

The role requires 10+ years in safety-critical embedded systems, deep DO-178B/C experience, and proven leadership in regulated environments. Onsite Reston position with strong growth opportunities and a comprehensive total rewards

Qualifications

• Ten years of software engineering in avionics or safety-critical embedded systems.
• Strong embedded real-time development experience including lifecycle activities.
• Experience leading software teams in regulated environments.
• Deep DO-178B/C knowledge with certification evidence expectations.
• Experience supporting certification audits and airworthiness interactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the avionics software team at the Reston site.
• Ensure DO-178B/C compliance and certification readiness.
• Develop resource plans and support project staffing and estimates.
• Maintain engineering processes and coordinate with cross-functional groups.
