Job summary

Lockheed Martin RMS in Owego, NY is seeking a Navigation Systems Engineer to lead the design, integration, and verification of advanced navigation solutions for aerospace platforms.

You will collaborate with software, hardware, program management, and customers to define architectures (GNSS, INS, sensor fusion), verify requirements in DOORS, and ensure MIL-STD and security clearance readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience with navigation (EGI, GPS, RNP/RNAV, Terrain Avoidance, Radio Nav, etc.).
• Broad systems engineering experience (architecture, design, requirements, CONOPS, verification).
• Experience integrating and testing hardware and/or software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Systems, Computer Engineering or related STEM.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve navigation architectures (GNSS, INS, Sensor Fusion).
• Interface with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with program goals.
• Capture, trace, and verify system requirements using DOORS; ensure MIL-STD compliance.
• Identify and resolve software and system-level defects to maintain mission readiness.
