Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks an Electronics Engineer Manager 2 to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering section in Melbourne. The role blends technical SOW (80%) with functional homeroom management (20%).

You will supervise 10-15 engineers, drive staffing actions, manage performance, and ensure compliance with policies while delivering avionics subsystems across flight, data, and network domains. On-site role with up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 9+ years of related engineering experience, or advanced degrees with fewer years.
• Experience with project planning, cost, schedule and performance, including Earned Value.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and project management.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional leadership to a section of engineers (10-15 personnel) and foster an innovative culture.
• Coordinate staffing across programs and manage personnel movement between programs.
• Oversee performance evaluations, salary reviews, and mentoring.
• Ensure compliance with CoTE policies, timecards, safety and configuration control.
• Develop, produce, and support Avionics equipment sub-systems on the program.
