Job summary

Grid.aero is seeking an Avionics and Electrical Engineer to own the development of avionics and electrical systems for its autonomous cargo aircraft. You will define system architecture, perform design and analysis, support production and verification, and lead safety-critical integration efforts.

As an early hire, you will help establish technical standards and best practices, with direct access to leadership and the opportunity to shape an innovative aerospace startup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of aerospace electrical engineering experience
• Experience with hardware-in-loop simulators
• Familiarity with harness design and electrical schematics
• Fundamentals of signal and power systems, EMI/EMC, grounding/bonding, and reliability
• Ability to travel to supplier sites or test facilities

Responsibilities

• Own aircraft avionics and electrical system architecture and design power, storage, distribution, and protection
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, structures, avionics, propulsion, software, manufacturing, and test engineers
• Develop certifiable avionics and electrical designs using first-principles and analyses
• Procure and support fabrication, installation, and integration of components
• Define and execute electrical ground tests and support flight tests
• Create and maintain requirements, diagrams, wiring diagrams, and trade studies
