You will report directly to our Sr. Certification Manager and you will work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact Honeywell Aerospace by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining product quality, reducing time-to-market, mitigating risks, fostering collaboration, and driving continuous improvement in the certification process.
The Electronics Process Assurance & Certification (PAAC) department within the Product Integrity organization has a Lead Certification Engineer position available in Phoenix, AZ. The successful candidate will be responsible as the Software Technical Standard Order (TSO) Specialist. The TSO Specialist is the primary certification liaison to the FAA for TSO compliance reviews and approval for development activities and certification documents of Deer Valley avionics products (Flight Controls, Flight Displays, FMS, Air Data, EGPWS, Weather Rada, TCAS, COM/NAV equipment). This position will report directly to the Technical Manager of Certification in Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities will include adherence to software/TSO processes as defined by the Partnership for Safety Plan (PSP) between Honeywell and the FAA, managing Service Related Difficulties (SRDs) and TSO non‑compliances with the FAA, ensuring engineering development and verification compliance to applicable FAA TSOs, mentoring TSO Specialists in the areas of TSO processes and compliance finding, growing the TSO Specialist staff through internal recruitment of candidate TSO Specialists, supporting the training and development of global peers, defining continuous process improvement, and representing the Phoenix site when working with peer TSO Managers at other PAAC sites.
