Job summary

TransMedics, Inc. is seeking a Lead, Aircraft Maintenance Controller to provide oversight of day-to-day Maintenance Control activities and support 24/7 operations in a fast-growing organ transplant logistics environment.

The role ensures FAA compliance, oversees maintenance controller duties when needed, reviews critical aircraft software, and helps minimize risks to the Part 135 certificate while aligning with company SOPs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate or military aviation maintenance.
• Valid and violation-free Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure 24-hour coverage of Maintenance Control and manage sick calls and time off.
• Oversee Maintenance Controller duties when needed.
• Ensure compliant, effective, and fiscally responsible practices.
• Provide timely, professional communication to internal and external customers.
• Ensure FAA regulations and OEMapproved data are followed in maintenance activities.
• Review aircraft software downloads (CMC, FDR, EEC) for maintenance.
• Identify conflicts or shortfalls related to Maintenance Controllers and mitigate risks to Part 135.
• Perform other TransMedics tasks as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

TransMedics has initiated a national program for organ retrieval and organ management with the goal of increasing utilization of donor organs for transplant using the Organ Care System (OCS) technology platform in conjunction with our best-in-class Logistics Command Center.

Transplant Logistics is a recently created organization responsible for leading all aspects of TransMedics’ transplant logistics, enabling the exponential growth of the National OCS Program (NOP). The team’s comprehensive scope includes data analytics, network and topology design, capacity planning, product and program management, and the daily execution of air and ground transplant logistics operations, managed by a world-class central command center operating 24/7 in Andover, MA.

The Lead, Aircraft Maintenance Controller will provide oversight and support of the day to day Maintenance Control Department activities to the satisfaction of the Senior Manager, Aviation Maintenance Control and Director of Maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Work to ensure 24 hour coverage of Maintenance Control to include all duties related to that of a Maintenance Controller if and when necessary.This includes management of sick calls and time off requests.
• When the duties of Maintenance Control are covered, the Lead, Maintenance Controller will also be responsible for the following:
• Ensure logical, effective, and fiscally responsible practices are being followed by the Team.
• Provide oversite and ensure timely, professional, and thorough communication is taking place to all department customers, both internal and external.
• Ensure Company SOP’s are followed in detail to align with all Company manuals.
• Provide audit results of Company software suites to ensure best practices are followed and data used to schedule flights and or maintenance events are accurate.
• Identify and help resolve conflicts or shortfalls related to Maintenance Controllers.
• Negate or minimize all risks to the Part 135 Certificate as it relates to Maintenance Control decision making.
• Review prominent aircraft software download packages to facilitate preventive maintenance or expedited resolution of AOG events. This could include CMC, FDR, and EEC downloads.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted with current FAA regulations and OEMapproved data.
• Perform other TransMedics tasks and duties as assigned/required.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

This position manages the following positions on a daily basis.

• This position will not have management responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimumof7yearsofexperienceinatleastoneoftherelatedfieldsoracombinationofboth:
• CorporateAviationMaintenance
• MilitaryAviationMaintenance
• Valid and violation free Airframe and Powerplant certificate always.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.

• PreviousPart 135 experience preferred (not required)

TransMedics is committed to equitable and transparent compensation. The expected base salary range for this role is$79,400.00 – $113,000.00, which represents the company’s current good-faith estimate of compensation for this position. Actual salary will depend on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific work location. This role may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and wellness resources).
