Job summary

S&L Integrated is seeking a Lead AV Technician to lead the installation of audio, video, and lighting systems in commercial venues. The role is on-site in Thomasville, GA, requiring hands-on setup, testing, and calibration to meet project timelines and workmanship standards.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in commercial AV integration, strong troubleshooting, rack wiring, and blueprint-reading skills. Travel up to 60% and a valid driver’s license are expected, with opportunities to advance

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years in a commercial AV integration environment.
  • Ability to wire a full-size rack to company standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for installation issues.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics for wiring.
  • Experience with low voltage electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, test, calibrate, and tune AV systems per scope and timelines.
  • Interact with customers to address questions and concerns.
  • Train customers on systems as needed.
  • Supervise and direct work of other technicians and contractors.
  • Provide on-site risk and issue reports to project/region managers.
  • Record time spent on each job and report in the tracking system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Do you have a passion for audio/video and how an integrated system allows for better communication and people connections? We are seeking an enthusiastic, curious, self-starter to join our Installation team in the Thomasville, GA


The Lead AV Technician is the onsite leader for the installation of audio, video, and lighting integrated systems in commercial venues, houses of worship, government buildings, manufacturing environments, etc. This is a “hands on” position that ensures established project design and deadlines are met.



What A Typical Day Looks Like:


  • Set-up, test, calibrate, and tune complete AV systems based on a project’s scope of work, within the expected timeframe and to the company’s workmanship standards

  • Interacts with customers to address questions, problems and or concerns

  • Trains customers on systems, as needed

  • When needed, supervises and directs the work ofother technicians(both S&L employees and outside contractors)to ensure adherence to the project scope of work, deadlines and workmanship standards.

  • Timely reports on-site risks and issues to the Project and Regional Managers to ensure efficient resolution to meet a project’s timeline and budget

  • Keeps track of time spent on each job assignment and accurately reports this information through the company’s established system

  • Other duties as assigned



Our Ideal Future Team Member Will Have:


  • Must have 2+ years of experience in a commercial audio, video, and lighting integration environment. This experience must include but not limited to:





    • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve common and complex installation issues

    • Ability to completely wire a full-size rack to company standards

    • Proficient in reading and deciphering blueprints and schematicsincluding the ability to interpret signal flow and wiring diagrams

    • Ability to use basic hand and power tools

    • Skilled in soldering techniques

    • Experience with various techniques used in pulling wire and cable

    • Considerable knowledge of low voltage electronics





  • AVIXA CTS, Dante Level 1 & Q-SYS Level 1 certifications preferred or able to obtain within 3 months of hire

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to effectively resolve conflicts

  • Prior experience working effectively as a team leader and directing the work of others

  • Ability to quickly process information, prioritize job tasks, and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a team environment

  • Proven ability to meet high accountability and dependability standards

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the company’s insurance standards

  • Must be able to travel to job sites, with frequent overnight/weekly out-of-town install projects (about 60% of jobs require overnight, multi-day travel)

  • Work hours are typically Monday – Friday; however, overtime and weekend work may be required to meet job deadlines and travel needs.



What is the job environment like?

This position requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands and fingers, reach and push with hands and arms. Frequently required to sit, climb, and balance. Work requires the ability to perform job duties on scaffolding, ladders, and at various heights as well as extensive overhead motion required to install equipment. Work requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis. Will periodically work in non-climate-controlled environments.
